Three articles are reprinted from Contracting, and the fourth, by Henry Bowlby, is reprinted from American Forestry. The articles and black and white photographs describe in brief the impetus for and history of the building of the Columbia River Highway and show the scenic beauties to be viewed from the road. There seems be be some advertisement for Warrenite, a road surface placed over macadam roads, which was used on the Highway. Both general description and more specific information about contracts, engineering, and construction history are contained in the articles. |
