We stand on Cape Disappointment at sunset and watch the Columbia River, envisioning its flow from its "far-off, wild birthplace" down to the Pacific Ocean. Mount Hood, St. Helens, Mount Jefferson, and Mount Adams are all seen "beneath the gorgeous sunset sky".
