| Notes | Black and white image. Young students seated at benches and desks face a female teacher who stands at a wooden podium at the Latham school located in Lane County, Oregon. The walls of the classroom are built of wood and have a clock, picture, and blackboard attached to their surfaces. Written in chalk on the surface of the blackboard are students' names and the words, "Latham School Feb. 1, 1912". On the right side of the image at the front of the classroom is what appears to be a piano with a music sheet holder. On the left edge of the images is a wood-burning stove with a pipe extending upwards from it surface and a circular piece of metal that surrounds the base of the stove. |

| Processing History | Scanned image enters Photoshop with negative polarity and has a reversed orientation. Archived Tiff is saved. Adobe Photoshop used to reorient and crop image, invert image to positive polarity, set and neutralize shadow and highlight point, adjust midtone contrast, and desaturate color information. Second production tiff saved, retaining adjustments layers. Photoshop used to convert color profile from Adobe 1998, to sRGB, set resolution to 125 dpi and resize the largest pixel dimension of the image to 875. Display jpeg saved after resizing. |
