| Notes | Black and white image. Students seated at desks at the Star School, located in Lane County, turn to look at the camera. Boys and girls are seated at desks with ironwork supports. The floor and walls of the classroom are made of wood. Near the back of the room is a wood-burning stove, whose metal pipe is attached to the back wall. Lining the wall in the background is a blackboard with handwritting on its surface. Hanging on the wall above the blackboard are pictures and light fixtures. Near the left corner of the room a female teacher sits at a desk. Flowers in containers are visible on two window ledges near the left edge of the image. |

| Processing History | Scanned image enters Photoshop with negative polarity and has a reversed orientation. Archived Tiff is saved. Adobe Photoshop used to reorient and crop image, invert image to positive polarity, set and neutralize shadow and highlight point, adjust midtone contrast, and desaturate color information. Second production tiff saved, retaining adjustments layers. Photoshop used to convert color profile from Adobe 1998, to sRGB, set resolution to 125 dpi and resize the largest pixel dimension of the image to 875. Display jpeg saved after resizing. |
