General NotesA Native American women, identified as Eat-no-meat and a member of the Cayuse Tribe, is standing outside in front of a blanket. She is wearing a Euro-American style dress, a necklace, a leather belt, earrings, and a blanket wrapped around her shoulders. Her hair has been tied into braids. She is carrying a bag in her left hand. The name is probably a translation of her Indian name; tribal members are attempting to verify her name.

She is wearing a wing dress, beaded leather belt with a beaded side drop which is in the front. In her right hand she is holding a cornhusk bag with a geometric design and a quirt which is made of an Elk horn with leather attached to the end of the horn. She has a Shawl around her shoulders. She is standing in front of a blanket back drop which is in front of a fence. Writing on the photograph is in the lower left side of the photograph "Cayuse Tribe Maj. Moorhouse."

Capture MethodScanned in transmissive mode with Silverfast AI 6.0 on UMAX PowerLook III flatbed scanner. Levels adjusted from 0 - 1.00 - 255 to 14 - 1.00 - 171 prior to capture.

Processing HistoryScanned images enter Photoshop with negative polarity and have a reversed orientation. Archived Tiffs are saved. Adobe Photoshop used to reorient and crop images, invert image to positive polarity, set and neutralize shadow and highlight point, adjust midtone contrast, and desaturate color information. Second production tiff saved, retaining adjustments layers. Photoshop used to convert color profie from Adobe 1998, to sRGB, set resoltuion to 125 dpi and resize the largest pixel dimension of the image to 875. Display jpeg saved after resizing.
