General NotesTwo Native American girls, identified as being from the Cayuse tribe, are standing on a blanket, outside in front of a tipi. One girl is wearing a dress, moccasins, earrings, and a necklace. Another girl is wearing a dress, moccasins, a necklace, and a belt. Both girls' hair is tied in braids.
TCI NotesAn outside photograph of two children in their regalia standing in front of a half canvas and half Tule Mat tipi. The girl on the left side of the photograph is wearing Euro-American style dress and the other one is wearing a Selvedge Trade Cloth style dress. Both are wearing necklaces and plain moccasins. The girl on the right side of the photograph is wearing a beaded leather belt. They are both standing in front of a tipi next to a door. The door is made of cloth material. There are a few poles on the outside of the tipi to hold down the canvas and the Tule mats.

Capture MethodScanned in transmissive mode with Silverfast AI 6.0 on UMAX PowerLook III flatbed scanner. Levels adjusted from 0 - 1.00 - 255 to 8 - 1.00 - 145 prior to capture.

Processing HistoryScanned images enter Photoshop with negative polarity and have a reversed orientation. Archived Tiffs are saved. Adobe Photoshop used to reorient and crop images, invert image to positive polarity, set and neutralize shadow and highlight point, adjust midtone contrast, and desaturate color information. Second production tiff saved, retaining adjustments layers. Photoshop used to convert color profie from Adobe 1998, to sRGB, set resoltuion to 125 dpi and resize the largest pixel dimension of the image to 875. Display jpeg saved after resizing.
