General NotesA Native American man, identified as Long Hair of the Cayuse Tribe, is seated. He is wearing a Capote coat, necklaces, bandoleers, a fur, a shirt, and a feather in his hair. In his lap, he is holding a hatchet-style pipe.
TCI NotesA Photograph of a tribal man dressed in his regalia. He has been identified as Longhair. He is wearing a Capote Coat that is made out of a blanket with a number of fringes made out of the blanket on the shoulders. He has on two bandoleers on; One is a Hairbone and the other is made of Fur. Under both of the Bandoleers is a Loop Necklace, and also a leather belt with brass tacks on to hold his Capote closed. In his lap holding with both hands is a pipe with a wooden stem with a few stripes on the stem.

Capture MethodScanned in transmissive mode with Silverfast AI 6.0 on UMAX PowerLook III flatbed scanner. Levels adjusted from 0 - 1.00 - 255 to 14 - 1.00 - 155 prior to capture.

Processing HistoryScanned images enter Photoshop with negative polarity and have a reversed orientation. Archived Tiffs are saved. Adobe Photoshop used to reorient and crop images, invert image to positive polarity, set and neutralize shadow and highlight point, adjust midtone contrast, and desaturate color information. Second production tiff saved, retaining adjustments layers. Photoshop used to convert color profie from Adobe 1998, to sRGB, set resoltuion to 125 dpi and resize the largest pixel dimension of the image to 875. Display jpeg saved after resizing.
