| General Notes | Young Native American man, identified as Joe Bennet of the Walla Walla tribe, poses, standing, on a Pendleton-style blanket, his left hand raised to his brow, amid grass and trees. He wears a hat that appears to be handmade, with a long ponytail flowing out from it on one side, and two braids intertwined with pieces of cloth on the other. He is bare-chested and wears a long, multi-tiered beaded necklace. Various pieces of cloth and a long strip of fur are wrapped diagonally about his hips, and he wears wool leggings and plain moccasins. |
| TCI Notes | An outside photograph of a man dressed in regalia. He is wearing an unidentified kind of hat, loop necklace, a scarf over his left shoulder, a fur bandoleer that is worn the wrong way. The bandoleer should be over his shoulder, not around his waist. Also he is wearing wool leggings and hider, plain moccasins. He is standing on a wool blanket that is covering some up behind him. Writing on the photograph is "Joe Bennet Walla Walla Tribe Maj. Moorhouse." |
