General NotesA view of two Native American camps and the surrounding landscape. The landscape includes fields, farmlands, a road, and fences. The camps include tipis. A line of deciduous trees without leaves is in the background.
TCI NotesAn outside photograph of two canvas tipis and a wooden corral next to an open field. This is the Short Mile camp site with many camps. The two canvas tipis are next to the base of the hill. At the tipi on the left side of the photograph is an unidentified man sitting on a horse. Next to this tipi is a corral made of poles. The photographer was on top of the hill looking to the southeast. In the background is the foothill of the Blue Mountains. In the tree line there are a couple of sheds.

Capture MethodScanned in transmissive mode with Silverfast AI 6.0 on UMAX PowerLook III flatbed scanner. Levels adjusted from 0 - 1.00 - 255 to 22 - 1.00 - 210 prior to capture.
Processing HistoryScanned images enter Photoshop with negative polarity and have a reversed orientation. Archived Tiffs are saved. Adobe Photoshop used to reorient and crop images, invert image to positive polarity, set and neutralize shadow and highlight point, adjust midtone contrast, and desaturate color information. Second production tiff saved, retaining adjustments layers. Photoshop used to convert color profie from Adobe 1998, to sRGB, set resoltuion to 125 dpi and resize the largest pixel dimension of the image to 875. Display jpeg saved after resizing.
