General NotesA Native American man identified as Phillip Jones of the Cayuse tribe stands outdoors on a dark blanket with light geometric patterns. He is standing close to bushes and under some trees. His moccasins appear to have both fur and beading or embroidery on them. He wears a long feathered headdress, a round disk earring, a dark cloth shirt and dark cloth plaid pants, a light-colored cloth cape, and a belt. He is holding a scarf of cloth and fur in front of him. A striped blanket or piece of cloth hangs from a low branch behind him.
