Image TitleWesley Schulmerich, captain
Year1928
TeamsOregon Agricultural College
DescriptionPhoto was used in the 1928 Beaver yearbook, volume 22, on page 253."More than a few of the victories won by the fighting Beaver nine were the result of the appressive playing and spectacular defensive work of Captain Schulmerich in center field. Always smiling or playing some prank, Wes was one of the greatest drawing cards on the team. Playing his trird and last year on the varsity, Schulmerich was a deciding factor in many contests. His clever base-running, fielding and work at bat featured every contest. With his long, timely home runs and sensational catches in the outfield, coupled with flashy base-pilfering, Wes filled the position vacated by former captain Escallier in great style."--1928 Beaver yearbook
