3 p. A typed statement made by University of Oregon President Robert D. Clark regarding the decision of a committee of inquiry not to file charges or seek the dismissal of faculty member John Froines, who was charged with conspiriacy along with the Chicago 7, as well as being accused of advocating student violence and civil disobedience to forcefully shut down the UO campus. Clark's statement defends the committee's decision that Froines' behavior did not fall into the catagory of "flagrantly unbecoming a faculty member" and therefore did not warrant dismissal or other charges.
