| Title | No. 161. Columbia River Highway near Celilo, Ore. |
| Description | A black-and-white photograph. Written on the bottom in white ink is "No. 161. Columbia River Highway near Celilo, Ore. B.C. Markham The Dalles Ore." In the foreground is a stretch of the highway. It looks as though a fence runs along the other side of the road, which appears to have a steep drop-off since the tops of telephone or telegraph poles can be seen running parellel to it. A few large trees are near the river bank. On the farther shore of the Columbia River are two figures wearing long capes or blankets. The river bank and the hills that rise up on that side are stark, barren of trees and strongly contured. |
