A Visual Narrative...on the Oregon experience

Sandra Stone, a researcher and writer, worked in conjunction with multi-media sculptor, Bill Will, to present text taken from records in the Oregon State Archives and other sources. These records include donation land claim files, journals, a divorce petition, minutes, memorandums, and a proclamation. The installation is a component of the interior and exterior architectural structure of the State Archives Building, located in Salem, Oregon.

The inscriptions are sand blasted and painted into stone, granite, marble, and travertine. For additional details about the inscriptions and to view the entire Percent for Art State Archives Building Collection, click here.

Other Visual Narratives will be made available shortly.
