The University of Oregon Libraries present these items as part of the record of the past. These primary documents reflect the attitudes, perspectives, and beliefs of different times. Working in concert with Metadata Services and Digital Projects, staff in the Music Services Department and Special Collections & University Archives selected several representative topics and pieces of sheet music for digitization and online display. The preliminary digitized music collections currently available are the Oregon Music Collection, focusing on music by Oregonians or about Oregon events and places, and the Women Composers Collection, showing the strength of the collection in music by women composers. These collections mirror the larger collections of the Music Services Department and provide a glimpse into the riches and possibilities of research available in the Historic Sheet Music Collection.

The images here are offered for research purposes. Individual prints may be requested by contacting the Image Services Center at 541-346-1946. Access to the physical items represented here, as well as to thousands of additional titles held by Music Services, may be arranged with the Music Services Department or, for relevant items in the Oregon Music Collection, Special Collections & University Archives.
